The facility makes extensive use of automated picking technology (A-frame & LMS) along with a pick-to-light system in processing orders. Products are issued in full-case and partial case quantities and range in size from small electronic components to big-screen televisions.

The picked items are transported to direct truck-loading conveyors by an automated system that is controlled by a Warehouse Control System that is integrated with a Warehouse Management System to route and track orders internally. Barcode identification and Radio Frequency data communication technology is used throughout the facility.

An automated sortation system directs cartons to the correct shipping lanes where they are scanned and audited, as they are loaded onto outbound trailers. Our host for the evening will be Mr. Greg Watson, Distribution Centre Manager. The facility is located at 279 Bayview Drive, Barrie.
